Some of these cities like Den Bosch or Breda only allow to sell weed to residents of the Netherlands.
So don’t worry about your nationality, but of course you still need to identify and be 18 years or older.

When it comes to coffeeshops in Utrecht, VIPshop is for sure one of the best and worth to visit in our opinion. VIPshop is around for more than 20 years and earned popularity across the city. This coffeeshop doesn’t have a smoking area which makes it suitable for take-away only.
If you’re looking for good quality weed and hash, this is the place to go to. They offer a extensive menu in this place, plenty of different strains of hash, weed, rosin and edibles. Especially the rosin (THC concentrate) is pretty rare to find in the Netherlands, as this is not a very common method to use cannabis in the country.
They also offer several different types of edibles. Last time we went to VIPshop we got some THC gummies (first time) and were very surprised of the intense high. Be careful though, you might think that 1 or 2 gummies are not that much but edibles can fool you big time. Always win in some advice, the employees in this coffeeshop are very knowledgeable and helpful.

Very close to the center city you can visit coffeeshop ‘t Grasje. This is one of the nicest places to hang around in the smoke area in Utrecht, with a relaced and cozy atmosphere. The place is not very big though, so it might be busy to sit down on some moments.
‘T Grasje clearly indicates on their menu which strains are grown outdoor and which are grown indoor, something some coffeeshops might lie about. Overall they offer a wide variety of different sorts of hash and cannabis, for a very reasonable price.
The combination of the great environment and good price/quality menu makes ‘t Grasje one of the best coffeeshops in Utrecht in our opinion.

For the most unique experience you can visit Culture Boat (also called De Boot), of which the name already reveals this coffeeshops is located on a boat. The boat itself actually dates from 1905, the coffeeshop is located in it since 1986. Located on the side of the center city, it lies waiting in the water for the stoners to visit.
You can sit inside to smoke some cannabis, it is a great place to hang around for an our or two. The personal is always friendly and willing to think along and answer any questions. The cannabis is pretty good as well, with overall fair prices.
The location is perfect, the interior and smoking area are great, as well as the staff. When visiting Utrecht you can’t miss this spot.

On the other side of the train station, coffeeshop Hi/Lo is located. The coffeeshop started in 2011, back in the days getting a headline in one of the biggest newspapers (de Volkskrant), stating that coffeeshops were getting more and more classy. Hi/Lo has a nice smoking area and a thoughtful interior, definitely something different than the average coffeeshop in the Netherlands.
For both sitting down and take-away we would recommend this coffeeshop. The prices are good as well as the quality. Online reviews do mention that the pre-rolls are bad at this place, reason to learn how to roll yourself 😉

They won second place in the Jack Herer Cup Amsterdam 2023 for best hybrid with their Sour Dream strain, as well as first place for the Highlife Cup 2023. This proves Gallery Colorado is one of the key players in Utrecht, and even the Netherlands.
