In general, tourists are not allowed to visit coffeeshops in Den Bosch. The coffeeshops are not allowed to sell foreigners weed, unless you can prove you live in the Netherlands. If you are an expat working in the Netherlands, or a student living here, you can prove that you are living here several different ways: show your Dutch health insurance card, an extract from the BPR (Basic Registrations of Persons) or a recent payslip from a Dutch employer.
Local governments can make their own policy for allowing foreigners to coffeeshops in their city. Unfortunately in a lot of cities in the south of the Netherlands tourist are not allowed to buy weed. Coffeeshop Chip’n Dale is most definitely one of the best shops in Den Bosch. The place is already located in the center city for more than 20 years, and has become one of the iconic places in the city to buy cannabis and hang out.
This is one of the coffeeshops the local authorities want to move out of the center city, but this will not be done till at least 2027. Till that time you are guaranteed to have a great experience at Chip’n Dale. Not like every other coffeeshop this place has a thoughtful interior and offer many activities to have a good time. You can play table football, pool table or watch TV. The atmosphere is great and very inviting to pick a table and spend a couple of hours smoking weed. You can even order food at Chip’n Dale, one of the features we think misses a lot in coffeeshops, as it makes it much more attractive to stay for a longer period of time.
Also the cannabis menu won’t let you down, they offer many different strains for buth hash and weed. The quality is on the high end and we like that you can view the strains they offer on their website as well.
Coffeeshop Meetpoint

On the other side of the Hinthamerstraat you will find coffeeshop Meetpoint, which is a very strong competitor for the Chip’n Dale. Also for this coffeeshop the plans from the government is to move it away from the center at a later date.
In 2023 Meetpoint has won the Coffeeshop Of The Year award by ‘’Cannabis Industrie Awards’’, which proves that they are on top of their game. All the weed and hash strains are tested on THC and CBD, in our opinion always a huge pro for the consumer. With this step they can insure there are no pesticides or other pollutants in the cannabis. Everything is tested to make sure it meets their high quality standards.
In general they offer more than 20 strains of weed, 10 different sorts of hash and 15 different pre-rolls. If you like special strains, coffeeshop Meetpoint is your place to be in Den Bosch.

A bit further out of the center city coffeeshop Expres’zo is located. They do offer a smoking area but the interior is not nearly as nice as for example at Chip’n Dale. Still, we would recommend this shop for take away when you are in Den Bosch but don’t want to go into the center city.
For us especially the variety in the edibles they offer stood out, you don’t come across this at every coffeeshop. Another pro are the kind employees, they are knowlageble and open to answer any of your questions.

The Grass Company doesn’t have one but two locations in Den Bosch. Back in 1982 this company opened the doors of the first Coffeeshop of Brabant in Tilburg. The Grass Company has a rich history and has played a significant role in breaking the stigma surrounding cannabis. Moreover, we consider their coffeeshops to be among the best in Tilburg and Den Bosch due to their smoking areas, amazing food, and overall vibe. At both locations, they provide a fantastic environment for relaxing and ensuring a pleasant experience. They have an extensive menu for lunch and snacks, offering everything you need for satisfying your munchies.
The coffeeshop at the Emmaplein is the smallest of the coffeeshops they have, but it is still a great environment to hang out. At this location you can only get snacks such as a tosti and milkshake.
The location at the Maastrichteweg is added to The Grass Company portfolio most recently, and offers a bigger space in Den Bosch. Here you can get lunch as well as snacks in the evening. They have made a thoughtful menu cart and know exactly what you are craving after smoking some cannabis 😉
