How to use edibles the correct way

There are some differences in using cannabis when eating compared to smoking or vaping. It is definitely a nice way to get creative and have a different experience than usual, but it is important to be aware of the difference in effects. Overall, when smoking or vaping weed you will feel the effects directly. When eating cannabis, the effects can be more potent and delayed.

To start, always begin with a low dose. As edibles affects every individual differently, personal tolerances can vary. In general it takes about 1-2 hours before the effects kick in. Due to this delay, it is best to resist the urge to eat more when you don’t feel anything yet. Beginners should start with about 2.5 to 5 milligrams of THC and wait at least 2 hours before considering another dose. This helps avoid overconsumption and potential discomfort.

Unlike smoking or vaping, where effects are immediate and easier to gauge, edibles pass through your digestive system and liver, causing delayed and sometimes stronger effects. It's crucial to calculate the THC content in your cannabis oil or butter, the amount used in your recipe, and the number of servings. Decide in advance how much of your edible you can safely consume.

While we advocate for combining cannabis with a productive lifestyle, edibles can make productivity challenging due to their delayed and stronger effects. It's best to consume edibles when you have no other plans for the day.

Always start low and go slow, to have the best experience when eating cannabis edibles.
