How to add cannabis to my recipe?

In general you can add cannabis to every recipe, as long as you make sure to first decarboxylate the cannabis to activate the THC and CBD compounds. Decarboxylation is a process that activates these psychoactive compounds in the cannabis plant so that you feel high when you consume it.

Decarboxylation occurs through heat. For example when smoking or vaporizing your weed, it instantly
decarboxylates the THC and CBD, making them immediately available for your body to absorb.

When adding cannabis to any recipe, you must decarboxylate (/activate) your buds first
through heat as well. Typically this is done by heating up the cannabis for some time in the oven, to later add it to butter or oil. We usually set the oven temperature to 110ºC and heat the cannabis for 30 minutes.

What are good recipes for stoners?

Essentially it is possible to add cannabis to every meal when you decarboxylate it first by
making for example the previously described cannabis butter or oil.

The butter or oil can be used in every meal you desire, but in our free Ultimate Stoner Cook Book we have made a list of our favorites! To give you a sneak peek and some inspiration, our favorite  sweet
recipes are:

Cannabis-infused salted caramel brownies, Oreo Cheesecake with weed and lemon olive oil cake!

Some of our favorite savory recipes include cannabis infused butter chicken, pasta carbonara with cannabis and delicious canna-burgers.

What are munchies?

The craving after smoking cannabis is often referred to as ‘’the munchies’’ It can be a sudden
and strong feeling of hunger , which usually kicks in within the first couple of hours after consuming weed. If you have a fast metabolism some research suggests that the munchies might kick in faster.

But also the quality of your weed can have a effect on these cravings. Usually a more potent strain has a bigger effect on the munchies.

The exact reasons behind the munchies are still being researched, but it is likely that THC in cannabis interacts with brain receptors (CB1) which triggers hunger hormones and dopamine (reward chemical), making food seem tastier and boosting enjoyment, leading to overeating.
